Attorney Hubert Rogers III of Lumberton, NC; repeat offender

The state of North Carolina provided Hubert N. Rogers III with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of North Carolina Law School.

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Tania guilty of the following misconduct.

Hubert’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Signed certificates of title for former law partner certifying he had fee simple title to properties in Parkton and Laurinburg
• By signing certificates of tile held himself out to lending institution that he had examined the public records and that said examination revealed that former partner did have a marketable title when in fact he failed to do so

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Hubert by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Hubert’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Intended to commit acts where harm or potential harm was foreseeable
• Conduct had negative impact on public’s perception of the legal profession
• Violated multiple trust account rules

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Hubert by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Hubert.
