Attorney Cowles Liipfert of Winston Salem, NC; tax cheat

The state of North Carolina presented Cowles Liipfert with a law license in 1964 after he graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Cowles guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Willfully failed to file state income tax returns
  • Failed to timely pay state tax obligations for at least 3 years

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Cowles by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Cowles practices with Craige Jenkins Liipfert & Walker LLP at 110 Oakwood Drive in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
