Attorney Darnell Parker of Greenville, NC; ethical goblin

The state of North Carolina presented Darnell Parker with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Darnell guilty of the following misconduct.

• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Used one client’s trust account funds to pay another client
• Failed to maintain accurate client ledgers
• Failed to conduct and keep records of quarterly reconciliations

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Darin by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Darnell.

Because Attorney Misfits in North Carolina are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Darin was never criminally charged with forgery.
