Attorney John Taylor of Richmond, VA; ethical troll

The state of Virginia presented John Lewis Taylor III  with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Washington & Lee University School of Law.

The Virginia State Bar Third District Subcommittee found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct intended to disrupt a tribunal
  • Prior to trial, Johnny filed two motions for expert testimony, both of which were denied by the trial court due to the fact that he had previously filed similar motions that were also denied by the court
  • On the eve of client trial, Johnny renewed his motions for expert testimony that was again denied by the court
  • After court denied Johnny’s latest motions for expert testimony, he told the court that the proceedings were unfair and he refused to participate in the trial
  • Johnny further told the judge he would not conduct voir dire, would not question witnesses, and would not present evidence or testimony on his client's
  • behalf
  • The Court then removed Johnny as counsel and ordered a continuance of the trial

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia Bar Disciplinary Board punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2019), Johnny practices with The Law Office of John L. Taylor III at 2416 Jefferson Avenue in Richmond, Virginia.
