Former Judge Henry Frye Jr. of Greensboro, NC; extreme slacker

The state of North Carolina presented Henry E. Frye Jr. with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

The North Carolina Judicial Standards Commission on Judicial Performance found Hank guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as Judicial District 18 Judge in Guilford County.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Displayed serious disregard for the principles of personal conduct
  • Failed to respect and comply with the law
  • Failed to promptly dispose of court business
  • Took nearly 4-years to issue judgment in a civil case

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the North Carolina Supreme Court punished Hank by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Hank practices his brand of law with Maddox & Gorham PA at 100 South Elm Street in Greensboro, North Carolina.
