The state of New Jersey presented Michael R. Speck with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from Rutgers University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Mickey guilty of the following misconduct.

• Negligent misappropriation [theft] of client funds
• Failed to comply with various recordkeeping rules
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Made false or misleading statements on his office letterhead

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Mickey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Mickey practices in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
