Attorney of Margot Guthrie of Vancouver, CAN; ethical goblin

The Law Society of Alberta presented Margot E Guthrie with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from the University of Windsor Law School.

A Disciplinary Hearing Panel found Margot guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to provide copy of bill for legal services to her client
• Billed client $458.34 to retrieval of client’s file after client’s death
• Engaged in professional misconduct

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee of the Law Society punished Margot by gifting her with a complimentary 4-week suspension of her law license and $1,500.00 in costs.
