Judge John Lord of Long Beach, CA; serial offender

 

The state of California presented John David Lord with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law.

 

The California Judicial Commission found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Johnny’s 1st bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

 

In one matter, Johnny made statements in presence of jury he knew to be improper to the effect that the self-represented defendant was misrepresenting facts and engaging in “gamesmanship.”

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

 

Johnny’s 2nd bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in embroilment (squabble) with a criminal defense attorney
  • Improperly initiated contempt proceedings against an attorney

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

 

Johnny’s 3rd bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

  • Made flippant remark about victim as being “as white as a piece of wonder bread”
  • Failed to act with appropriate dignity
  • Became embroiled (squabbled) with persons appearing before him
  • Failed to act courteously with litigants and/or attorneys unfortunate enough to have appeared before him
  • Knowingly violated the rules by commenting in public on a pending criminal matter
  • Gave appearance that he knowingly abandoned his judicial role to become an advocate for his own prior ruling or for the position advanced by one of the parties involved in the matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Johnny by gifting him with a third complimentary admonishment.

 

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Johnny continues to sit as a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge in Long Beach, California.
