Judge Robert Freese of Danville, IN; ethical troll

The state of Indiana presented Robert William Freese with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Indiana University School of Law

It should be noted that Bobby has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past twenty-eight years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Danville area was about to offer Bobby a good paying job.

The Indiana Commission of Judicial Qualifications found Judge Freese guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to disclose potential conflict of interest before appointing Stephen Scott as trustee to the Herbert Hochreiter Trust in 2005
  • Bobby characterized Scott, formerly of Brownsburg, as a good friend he had known for 15 years when the two worked at the Hendricks County Prosecutor’s Office
  • Bobby floated Scott a mortgage for a house two weeks before the Hochreiter Trust appointment
  • In 2017, Scott pleaded guilty of embezzling $250,000 and was sentenced to 30 months in prison
  • Did not act promptly when notified that Scott did not comply with court orders and reporting responsibilities as trustee
  • Failed to take any actions against Scott due to his failure to file annual trustee reports from 2006 to 2009

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted to Bobby by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. February 2019), Bobby continues to sit as a Hendricks County Superior Court judge in Danville, Indiana.
