Attorney David Malson Jr. of Grand Rapids, MI; ethical goblin

The state of Michigan presented David A. Malson Jr. with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from Wayne State University School of Law.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel found Davey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • As partner of the firm of Dunn, Malson, and Kozera, PC, and as a trustee of its retirement plan, Davey failed to adequately supervise law firm employees to ensure that appropriate bookkeeping practices for the handling of employee retirement contributions were maintained
  • Participated in promulgation of a fee agreements that wasn’t in compliance with the Rules

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed costs of $817.68.

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Davey practices with Barnes & Thornburg LLP at 171 Monroe Avenue in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
