Sean Hannity: Today’s “Whiny Crybaby” Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Sean. In the past, he has been the recipient of forty-two (42) Awards in various categories and the subject of seven (7) opinion pieced. During a recent (ca. January 2019) episode of the Sean Hannity Comedy Show, Sean decided to prove his undying loyalty to billionaires and millionaires regarding the current income tax rate imposed upon them.

Sean’s main whining was about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) who had proposed an income tax rate of 70% on persons whose income exceeds $10 million a year. In his whiny voice, Sean fed the following red meat for consumption by his low I.Q. followers, none of whom are earning millions each year.

• “Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will stop rich people from buying boats and taking expensive vacations."
• “Higher taxes means the rich people won't be buying boats that they like recreationally."

Sean’s comments that millionaires would be prevented from buying boats is likely true since most all of them purchase “yachts” not boats. I almost wanted to cry, almost, when Sean asserted that a 70% tax would be quite hurtful to multi-millionaires when in fact 99.5% of hard working Americans don’t own a “yacht” and cannot afford to vacation in Vail during the winter and the French Riviera during the summer.

Below are the personal income tax rates prior to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s suggestion of raising the rate to 70%.

• Depression of 1932, Congress raised taxes from 25% to 63%
• World War II, top rate peaked at 94% on taxable income over $200,000 ($2.5 million in 2018 dollars)
• 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, top rate never dipped below 70%

Under Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s 70% rate, someone earning $100 million a year would be left with $30 million to pay for his/her living expenses over a one-year-period of time. Goshes and Gollies Girls and Boys, how would you like to try getting along for a year with a measly $30 million bucks?

Maybe Trumpster’s would prefer that folks like them earning between $20,000 and $75,000 a year have their rates increased to 70% so that there will be sufficient funds to pay for The Great Leader’s Wall. If so, then they’d surely support decreasing the tax rate for someone earning $100 million a year to 12%.
