Attorney Kathleen Mcconkie of Bountiful, UT; ethical goblin

The state of Utah presented Kathleen Mcconkie with a law license in 1983 after she graduated from Brigham Young University School of Law.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme Court found Kathy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with clients
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Entered into prohibited transactions with clients
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to ensure measures were in place and followed by her staff and an attorney working under her supervision concerning professional responsibilities
  • Prepared a settlement that included a clause that would release the attorney, and that failed  to allow for the clients to seek independent counsel prior to signing it

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Kathy by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2019), Kathy practices with the Mcconkie Law Offices at 110 North Main Street in Bountiful, Utah.
