Attorney Michael Rubin of Tarzana, CA; imbecile, thief, repeat offender

The state of California presented Michael Philip Rubin with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from DePaul University School of Law.

The State Bar Court found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to acknowledge the wrongful nature of his egregious misconduct
• severe injuries to the musician
• Failed to provide competent representation [imbecile]
• Failed to pay required funds to a party to a lawsuit
• Demonstrated disrespect to a Superior Court by filing three incomplete accountings
• Failed to appear at court-scheduled hearings
• Due to nonappearance at court hearing, court issued bench warrant for his client’s arrest
• Client handled own worker’s compensation case and received over $9,000 in benefits
• Collected an unconscionable fee [cheater]
• Billed his client for court appearance he failed to make [thief]
• Lied to client he appeared at court hearing
• Failed to timely file response in client’s lawsuit
• Failed to respond to opposing counsel’s discovery requests
• Refused to sign attorney substitution form after he withdrew from client representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Mikey’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reproval after he was convicted of carrying a concealed weapon.
