Judge Harold Jarrell Jr. of High Point, NC; ethical troll

The State of North Carolina provided Harold Thomas Jarrell Jr. with a law license in 1968.

The North Carolina Judicial Standards Commission found Harry guilty of the following misconduct.

Harry’s misconduct stems from the theft of two cars from Archdale that were the property of the estate of Harry’s uncle. At the time, Harry was neither executor nor a beneficiary of the estate. (Jennifer Fernandez)

Subsequently Henry Thomas Horn of Trinity, NC was arrested in connection with the car thefts. Harry then asked the police official overseeing the case to request that a high bond be set for the defendants. Harry’s request led to a Randolph County magistrate setting Mr. Horn’s bond at $25,000 cash and noted, “Bond set by Judge Jarrell (Cash Only.”

Shortly thereafter, Mr. Horn’s attorney complained and Judge Andrew Davis of Asheboro lowered the bond to $2,500.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the North Carolina Supreme Court punished Harry by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2018), Harry continues to sit as a Guilford County District Court Judge in High Point, North Carolina.
