Judge Ernest Hiroshige of Los Angeles; repeat offender

The State of California provided Ernest Hiroshige  with a law license in 1971 after he graduated from the University of California Hastings School of Law.

It should be noted that Ernie has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the thirty-eight years (1980-2018). Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Los Angeles area was about to offer him a good paying job.

The California Commission on Judicial Performance found Ernie of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in delegating his responsibility to conduct case management conferences to his court clerk
  • Engaged in an egregious dereliction of duty
  • Knowingly engaged in improper actions

As one would suspect, this isn’t Ernie’s First bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonishment for engaging in exactly the same type of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Ernie by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. December 2018), Ernie continues to sit as a Superior Court judge in Los Angeles, California.
