Attorney Michael Aten Jr. of Cleveland Heights, OH; thieving slacker

The state of Ohio provided Michael Branch Aten Jr. with a law license in 2008 after he graduated from Cleveland State University College of Law.

Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide accounting of $14,000 in fees received from client
  • Failed to notify client of the forced sale of her home
  • Failed to respond to repeated calls and emails from client
  • Lack of responses to client forced her to retain new counsel
  • Charged a clearly excessive fee (thief)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Mikey!)

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Mikey by the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. February 2019), Mikey practices at 1719 Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
