Attorney Richard Cheng of Skyforest, CA; ethical gnome

The state of California provided Richard C. Cheng with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from George Washington University School of Law.

The California State Bar Court found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Knowingly misled grand jury
  • During questioning of his witness before grand jury, Dick intentionally failed to correct his witness’s false testimony that he had not received any benefits or promises in exchange for his testimony
  • Failed to advise grand jury his client was obligated to testify pursuant to a plea agreement and that he was a paid government informant
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Dick!)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the California State Bar Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reproval.

As we speak (ca. January 2019), Dick practices in Skyforest, California.
