Prosecutor Donna Price of Marlington, WV; incompetent boob

Donna Meadows Price was presented with a law license from the West Virginia Supreme Court in 2000.

In 2008, Donna succeeded in duping the voters of Pocahontas County into electing her as their Prosecuting Attorney. She is attempting to dupe them again in 2012 by seeking to be re-elected.

In early 2012, the Lawyer Disciplinary Board charged Donna with multiple instances of misconduct.

According to The Pocahontas Times , the charges came about as a result of complaints filed by circuit court judges James Rowe and Joseph Pomponio, Sheriff David Jonese, and other law enforcement officers, the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) and t he Child Youth and Advocacy Center.

A few of the ethics charges lodged against Donna are as follows:
  1. Failure of competence (incompetent boob)
  2. Failed to achieve fairness when dealing with opposing parties and counsel
  3. In 20 criminal cases, Donna was cited for failure to prepare court orders in a timely manner
  4. Donna’s gross incompetence led to defendants being jailed longer than their sentences required
  5. Violated the law by switching magistrates without consent of the magistrate or a court order
  6. Donna was removed from an abuse and neglect case by Judge Rowe after it was discovered the mother was being used as a confidential informant to make controlled drug buys (conflict of interest)
  7. DHHR workers said Donna didn’t inform them of hearing dates and times, thus cases were disposed without their testimony, which resulted in changes of child custody
  8. Sheriff Jonese’s complaints stem from Donna’s failure to prosecute drug arrests
In a rather lame attempt at levity, Donna had the chutzpah to defend her conduct by saying, “I believe it’s an attack on my credibility coming into an election year.” Clearly, Donna missed her calling as a standup comedian, right?

Hopefully, the West Virginia Supreme Court will revoke Donna’s law license which would result in her being unable to continue as prosecutor. This will only happen if she’s held to a higher standard of conduct then everyone else in Pocahontas County.
