Attorney Michael McCord of Columbus, OH; deadbeat Daddy, repeater

 

The state of Ohio presented Michael McCord  with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from University of Toledo School of Law.

 

The Disciplinary Counsel found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Mikey’s 1st bite a the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Filed to meet an obligation owing to a client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Mikey’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Failed to pay fees owing to legal expert
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Knowingly used a misleading law firm name
  • Improperly shared legal fees
  • Failed to comply with court-ordered child support obligations (deadbeat)
  • Ordered to pay $40,000 in retroactive child support within 30 days of court order while the full amount of his arrearage was being determined
  • Failed to pay court ordered $40,000 in retroactive child support and was held in contempt of court
  • Actual amount of arrearage in child support was determined by the court to be $118,789.40
  • Illegally paid himself fees of $119,504 over three years at a time his law license was suspended
  • Provided misleading [false] information to ethics investigators (Screw you said Mikey!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. December 2018) Mike practices at 811 Strawberry Hill Road West in Columbus, Ohio.
