Attorney John Higgins of Albuquerque, NM; contemptuous drunk

The state of New Mexico presented John Wayne Higgins with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.

The New Mexico Disciplinary Board found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in contemptuous conduct in open court
  • Appeared in court while drunk

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Mexico Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 12-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the New Mexico Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Johnny.

As we speak (ca. March 2019) Johnny practices with John Wayne Higgins & Associates at 515 Roma Ave NW in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
