Attorney Carl Anderson of Phoenix; serial slacker

The state of Arizona presented Carl Robert Anderson with a law license in 2006 after he graduated from the University of Miami School of Law.

The Arizona State Bar found Carl guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Knowingly disobeyed an obligation under tribunal
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to file an answer on behalf of the company in a breach of contract matter
  • Failed to respond to the defendant’s motion for summary judgment.
  • Because of his failures, a $26,000 judgment was imposed against his client. Mr. Anderson also
  • Failed to provide an initial disclosure statement
  • Failed to respond to a request for admissions
  • Failed to respond to the motion to deem the requests admitted
  • Failed to respond motion for partial summary judgment
  • Gross negligence led trial court ordering admissions submitted to client by defense counsel to be admitted as true
  • Court awarded partial judgment of $55,000 against client due to failure to file response to defense counsel’s motion for summary judgment
  • Failed to respond to second defense motion for summary judgment that then led to the trial court entering a judgment for $67,250 against his client
  • Failed to respond to at least two letters from opposing counsel regarding settlement of his client’s claims
  • Failed to respond to motions involving requests for judgment and award of attorney fees
  • Court granted opposing counsel’s request, dismissed all of the client’s claims and entered judgment against the client for $4,467.00

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Carl by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and ordered to pay investigative costs of $1,200.00.

As we speak (ca. October 2018), Carl practices with The Anderson Law Firm PLC at 5627 Cavedale Drive in Phoenix, Arizona.
