Judge Curtis DeLapp of Bartlesville, OK; bullying scofflaw

The state of Oklahoma presented Curtis DeLapp with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Law.

The Oklahoma Court on the Judiciary found Curtis guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Falsified a court document
  • Engaged in oppression in office
  • Engaged in gross neglect of his judicial duties
  • Abused judicial position by sending dozens of people to jail for such minor things as eating sunflower seeds in his courtroom
  • Engaged in a pattern of conduct undermining public confidence in his independence
  • Repeatedly engaged in incompetent behavior (idiot)
  • Engaged in conduct involving bias towards certain defendants
  • Regularly sent people to jail for direct contempt of court in direct violation of their due process rights
  • Issued in excess of 200 direct contempt citations ordering incarceration in two years

Rather than await a ruling wherein he would have been removed from the bench for his egregious misconduct, Curtis took the cowards way out and resigned from his judicial position.

As we speak (ca. September 2018), it is rumored that Curtis has or is in the process of applying for a job as a greeter at Walmart Supercenter Store at 4000 SE Green Country Road in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
