Prosecutor William Haggerty of Montague, NJ; ethical troll

The state of New Jersey presented William T. Haggerty with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Miami University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Pete guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as the Sussex County prosecuting attorney.

In one matter, Pete failed to disclose while prosecuting case on behalf of Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative without disclosing that his brother was the utility’s chairman of the board, an omission that led to a mistrial in the case.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. September 2018), Pete continues to be employed as a Wantage Municipal Court prosecutor in Montague, New Jersey. In addition, Billy pads his wallet by practice law with the law firm of Dolan & Dolan located at One Legal Lane in Newton, New Jersey.
