Attorney James Morton of Ontario, CAN; lying bigamist

The Law Society of Upper Canada presented James Cooper Morton with a law license in 2013 after he graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Law.

The Law Society of Ontario along with local law enforcement has charged Jimmy with engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Submitted fake papers to divorce his justice of peace wife so he could marry his law clerk
  • Guilty of bigamy
  • Engaged in forgery-related offenses
  • Forged various official records for purpose of divorcing wife
  • Criminally charged with obstruction of justice and bigamy

The maximum sentence for bigamy is five years in prison.

All that remains now is to see how long it takes for Jimmy to cop a plea on pending criminal charges to limit his time in prison. When that happens he will likely have his license revoked.

As we speak (ca. August 2018), Jimmy practices with Morton Barristers at 1031 Main Street East in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
