Judge Carbett Duhon III of Hempstead, TX; ethical goblin

The state of Texas presented Carbett J. Duhon III with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from South Texas University School of Law.

The State Commission on Judicial Conduct found Carbett guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Improperly lent prestige of judicial office to campaign for local DA
  • Improperly allowed his judicial name/office to be used in a campaign by a candidate for the office of District Attorney

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Carbett by gifting him with a complimentary warning.

As we speak (ca. September 2018), Carbett continues to sit as a Waller County Judge in Hempstead, Texas.
