Attorney Daniel Van Norman of Lapeer, MI; ethical elf

The State of Michigan provided Daniel George Van Norman with a law license in 1982.

The Attorney Disciplinary Board found Daniel guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to provide competent legal representation (moron)
  2. Failed to act with reasonable diligence (slacker)
  3. Failed in duty to seek lawful objectives of client through reasonably available means
  4. Failed to keep client reasonably informed about status of legal matter
  5. Failed to expedite litigation on client’s behalf
  6. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  7. Knowingly assisted or induced another into violating the code of conduct
In one matter, Daniel was hired to institute divorce proceedings and obtain a rest raining order on behalf of his client. Daniel failed to properly serve the restraining order, rendering it unenforceable. After he was fired, Daniel refused to release his client’s file to her.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Attorney Disciplinary Board punished Daniel by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2012) Daniel practices at 235 West Genesee Street in Lapeer, Michigan.
