Attorney Emil Restaino of Belleville, NJ; liar, serial offender

 

The state of New Jersey  presented Emil T. Restaino with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from Rutgers University School of Law.

 

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Emil guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Emil’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed as to status of legal matter
  • Failed to communicate the basis of his fee in writing
  • Failed to promptly surrender client file to substitute counsel
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Emil!)
  • Failed to communicate with client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Emil by gifting him  with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Emil’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in gross neglect of client legal matters
  • Made misrepresentations [lied] to client about status of matter for two years
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Emil by gifting him  with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

 

Emil’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate the basis of his fee in writing
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Misrepresented [lied] to client about status of her case

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Emil by gifting him  with a complimentary censure.

 

Emil’s 4th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Made misrepresentations [lied] to client
  • Engaged in gross neglect of client matter
  • Neglected client real estate matter
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in a pattern of neglecting client legal matters
  • Failed to maintain required financial records

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Emil by gifting him  with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. January 2019), Emil practices at 98 Franklin Street in Belleville, New Jersey.
