From 1982 through 2004, Jimmy was an associate judge in Muscatine.
Jimmy has proven through his conduct that he’s a serial drunk as set forth below.
After his second conviction for drunk driving in 2004, the Iowa Judicial Commission filed misconduct charges against Jimmy the Lush. As a consequence of his criminal conduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Jimmy by gifting him with a reprimand.
In late 2004, Jimmy was placed on “paid” medical leave. He then requested that he be allowed to retire (53 at the time) under disability provisions of the judicial retirement system. In Dec 2004, Chief Justice (aka, enabler for Judicial Misfits) Louis Lavorato granted Jimmy’s request for disability retirement.
Lavorato’s conduct is an unmitigated joke! Jimmy proved that he was an accomplished drunk. Why in the hell should Iowa’s taxpayers have to pay this lush a retirement for the rest of his useless life? If everything was fair and equitable, Chief Justice Lavorato should have been made to pay Jimmy’s future bar bills and pension.
