Attorney Saleemah Burns of Hackensack, NJ; liar, repeat offender

 

The state of New Jersey  presented Saleemah M.K. Burns with a law license in 2008 after she graduated from Rutgers University School of Law.

 

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Saleemah guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Saleemah’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to keep client informed as to status of legal matter
  • Failed to explain matter to extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions about the representation
  • Charged a clearly unreasonable fee (thief)
  • Failed to promptly notify client of receipt of client funds
  • Engaged in illegal practice of law while ineligible
  • Made false statements to ethics investigators (Screw you, said Saleemah!)
  • Failed to promptly deliver funds owing to client

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Saleemah by gifting her with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

 

Saleemah’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Threatened to present criminal charges to obtain advantage in civil matter
  • Made false/misleading communication about an attorney’s legal fee

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Saleemah by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

 

As we speak (ca. December 2019), Saleemah practices at 21 Lee Place in Hackensack, New Jersey.
