Attorney Charles Rothenberg of Hartford, CT; slacker, loser

The state of Connecticut provided Charles Joseph Rothenberg with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Quinnipiac University School of Law.

The Statewide Grievance Committee found Charlie guilty of the following misconduct.

In addition to the misconduct set forth below, Charlie’s law license was suspended for his failure to pay an annual fee amounting to a measly $75 to the Client Security Fund, which was set up to reimburse clients who were cheated by their attorneys.

  • Failed to pursue clients’ child support arrearages
  • Failed to discuss so-called strategy to obtain child support arrearages for client
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Excuses for gross negligence found to be unacceptable

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Charlie by gifting him a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2018), Charlie practices with Rome Smith & Lutz at 21 Oak Street in Hartford, Connecticut.
