Ex. Judge John Lallo of Rhode Island; convict, liar
For 20 years the Dishonorable John Lallo sat on the Administrative Adjudication Court.
During his undistinguished career on the bench, Johnny was criminally convicted of perjury for making a false statement in a personal bankruptcy petition. They should have known right off the bat that he was lying since “his lips were moving,” right?
In addition to being a perjury, Johnny spent a great deal of time gambling at the Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut. Of course being the certified loser that he was, Johnny did quite a bit of this gambling while he was receiving an underserved paycheck from the taxpayers of Rhode Island.
Johnny admitted that on at least sixty-two (62) days between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, he abandoned his judicial post to gamble at Foxwoods.
Commission/Supreme Court sanctions
In addition to removing Johnny from the bench for being a convicted felon, the commission ordered Johnny to pay $28,000 to the state for wages he was paid while gambling at Foxwoods.
Johnny appealed the $28,000 sanction to the Supreme Court. The court agreed with the sanction and said, “This disposition has been recommended by the commission as reimbursement to the taxpayers of Rhode Island, who were deprived of his services while he regularly shirked his responsibilities and headed to Foxwoods during the workday.”
Why hasn’t other state Supreme Courts done the same thing regarding other judges who have bilked the taxpayers by engaging in similar conduct?
An unreliable source indicated that as we speak (ca. Jan 2012) Johnny is employed as a janitor at the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City.
