Attorney James Stancil of Baltimore, MD; slacker, loser

The state of Maryland presented James Earl Stancil with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the University of Baltimore Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Jimmy’s firm ailed to pursue client’s adoption case
• At time of Jimmy’s partner’s death, adoption case had been pending for 6 years
• Failed to make reasonable efforts to ensure adoption matter was being pursued in a competent and timely manner
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
