Attorney Michael Smigiel Sr. of Elkton, MD; ethical leprechaun

The state of Maryland presented Michael Dwayne Smigiel Sr. with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of Baltimore Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to safeguard client/third person funds
• Failed to maintain proper trust account records
• Failed to assure non-attorney assistant’s conduct compatible with his professional obligations

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2019) Mikey practices at 138 East Main Street in Elkton, Maryland.
