Attorney Regina Senjule of Ontario, CAN; moronic slacker

The Law Society of Upper Canada presented Reginia Marie Luyiga Senjule with a law license in 1997 after she graduated from the University of Toronto Law School.

The Hearing Committee for the Law Society found Regina guilty of the following misconduct.

• Regarding 27 mortgage transactions: acted for multiple persons where there was or was likely to be a conflicting interest
• Failed to disclose all material facts to her lender clients
• Failed to obtain informed, if any, consent from lender clients
• Failed to serve lender clients in a conscientious and diligent manner (slacker)
• Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
• Failed to follow the express written instructions of the lender clients, including instructions to ensure the mortgage conditions were satisfied by the final purchaser(s), in some or all of the mortgage transactions
• Failed to make reasonable inquiries into the purpose of each transaction, the payment of deposits to vendors, and the discrepancies or irregularities in each transaction
• Failed to care for client property as a careful and prudent owner would when dealing with like property
• Disbursed mortgage funds prior to registering the mortgage in 1 transaction

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Regina by gifting her with a complimentary 5-month suspension of her law license and ordered to pay $12,500 in costs to the Law Society.
