Attorney Ian McLean of Ontario, CAN; ethical troll

The Law Society of Upper Canada presented  Ian Neil McLean with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from the University of Toronto Law School.

The Hearing Committee for the Law Society found Ian guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Withdrew funds from a trust account for services without delivering a billing
  • Permitted a cheque, drawn from his trust account, to be signed by a non-member
  • Engaged in unprofessional conduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Ian by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and ordered to pay $7,500 in costs to the Law Society.

As we speak (ca. October 2018), Regina practices at 209-17070 Yonge Street in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada.
