Attorney Marvin Shifman of Ontario, CAN; serial offender

The Law Society of Upper Canada presented  Marvin Barry Shifman with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of Toronto Law School.

The Hearing Committee for the Law Society found  Marv guilty of the following misconduct.

Marv’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Marv!)
• Engaged in professional misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Colin by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and ordered to pay costs of $4,000 to the Law Society.

Marv’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Marv!)
• Engaged in professional misconduct
• Failed to produce books and record to Law Society (Up yours, said Marv!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Colin by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license and ordered to pay costs of $4,000 to the Law Society.

Marv’s 3^rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to either bring a motion to vary a Court Order
• Failed to obtain a release from his clients releasing him from his obligations to comply with a Court Order
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Marv!)
• Engaged in professional misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Colin by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license and ordered to pay costs of $7,500 to the Law Society.
