Justice Allen Loughry II of West Virginia; lying crook

The state of West Virginia presented Allen H. Loughry II with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Capitol University School of Law in Columbus, Ohio.

The West Virginia Judicial Investigative Commission has charged Judge Loughry with engaging in the following misconduct.

• Intentionally made false statements with deliberate intent to deceive
• Gave disinformation wit the intent to harm another person
• Heavily involved in the $363,000 renovation of his judicial office
• Lied to local reporters about renovations to his office, saying at the time that he was not very involved in the upgrades
• Took furniture from state Capitol to his home, including an antique desk
• Hid a federal subpoena from fellow justices while serving as West Virginia’s Chief Justice
• Illegally used state vehicles for personal activities
• Used rental cars paid for by the state for personal trips

In early June 2018, the West Virginia Court of Appeals (highest court in West Virginia) ordered that Judge Loughry be suspended without pay. However, the comedians sitting on the Court of Appeal refused a request to suspend his license to practice law during the pendency of the judicial ethics investigation..

Because Judicial Misfits in West Virginia are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Allen has not been criminally charged with theft in office and/or grand larceny.

As we speak (ca. July 2018), all that remains is to see what the enablers for Judicial Misfits do in punishing Allen for his egregious misconduct.
