Attorney Lawrence Shulman of Birmingham, MI; thieving slacker
The state of Michigan provided Lawrence B. Shulman with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Wayne State University Law School.
The Tri-County Hearing Panel #69 found Larry guilty of the following misconduct.
-
Failed to prepare and file appellate brief on client’s behalf
-
Gross negligence led to client losing right to pursue an appeal
-
Failed to refund any portion of fee for failure to file appellate brief (thief)
-
Failed to seek lawful client objectives through reasonably available means
-
Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
-
Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
-
Failed to comply with client information requests
-
Failed to explain matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit his clients to make informed decisions regarding the representation
-
Knowingly made false statement of material fact or law to third person
-
Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Larry!)
-
Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
-
Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Larry by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license effective May 4, 2018.
As we speak (ca. February 2019), Matty’s practice will resume in Troy, Michigan in early August 2018.
