Attorney Christine DiSaia of Danvers, MA; ethical troll

The state of Massachusetts provided Christine DiSaia with a law license in 1999 after she graduated from the University of Massachusetts Law School.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Christy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Neglected a client’s personal injury matter
• Failed to provide client with written contingent fee agreement
• Failed to perform any work of substance on client’s personal injury case
• Failed to contact the other driver’s insurance about client’s death
• Failed to respond to insurer’s requests for records and other information
• Failed to tell daughter of deceased client that she would have to fill out new forms after a change in procedure at the probate court
• Gross negligence allowed statute of limitations to run out regarding accident claim
• Refused to provide deceased client’s son with mothers file re: mother’s personal injury case
• Defaulted on legal malpractice case filed against her re: deceased client’s injury case
• Failed to appear at court hearing to determine damages on malpractice claim
• Son subsequently won a $113,500 default judgment against Christy
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Christy!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers punished Christy by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license effective August 9, 2017.

As we speak (ca. October 2018), Christy’s  practice will resume in Quincy, Massachusetts in August 2018.
