Attorney Rodney Halstead of Omaha; serial liar
The state of Nebraska provided Rodney A. Halstead with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from the University of Nebraska Law School.
The Disciplinary Counsel found Rodney guilty of the following misconduct.
-
For six consecutive years filed false reports regarding his appointments as permanent guardian of an incapacitated adult
-
In reports filed in 2010 and 2011, Rodney falsely stated: “I have seen the ward about once a month and checked via phone more often”
-
In 2012 changed response and handwrote: “I have been kept updated mostly by telephone”
-
In 2013 and 2014 reports on the ward wrote “updated by telephone”
-
In truth, Rodney had not visited the ward or spoken to anyone at the ward’s assisted living facility since for seven (7) years
-
Impossible for Rodney to have visited or spoken to the ward from 202 thru 2015 because he had moved out of the assisted living facility in 2011
-
Made a false statement of fact to a tribunal
-
Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nebraska Supreme Court punished Rodney by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license effective August 9, 2017.
As we speak (ca. September 2018), Rodney’s practice will resume at 11620 Arbor Street in Omaha, Nebraska in November 2018.
