Attorney William Gast of Omaha; ethical goblin

The state of Nebraska provided Rodney A. Halstead with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Creighton University Law School.

The Disciplinary Counsel found Rodney guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Billy!)
Engaged in the illegal practice of law
Failed to communicate with client about her case
Failed to advise client of his law license suspension
Failed to withdraw representation of client after being suspended
Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
Knowingly violated his oath of office as an attorney

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nebraska Supreme Court punished Rodney by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license effective March, 2018.

As we speak (ca. September 2018), Billy’s  practice will resume with The Law Offices of Gast & McClellan at 503 South 36th Street in Omaha, Nebraska in March 2019.
