Attorney Fred Beery of Hillsboro, OH; ethical troll

The state of Ohio presented Fred Jerome Beery with a law license in 1982 after she graduated from Capitol University Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Freddy guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was running for a position as a judge on the Highland County Court of Common Pleas in Columbus, Oho.

  • Falsely advertised on the radio that his opponent who was a former prosecutor “got appointed by the political bosses in Columbus” when in fact he knew the appointment was made by the Governor
  • Ran a radio ad and distributed a mail advertisement in which he was critical of his opponent’s involvement, while serving as a prosecutor, in plea bargaining a felony charge related to a defendant’s alleged rape of a minor child, which he knew was false and/or misleading
  • When asked by his opponent to stop airing the false ads alluded to above, Freddy refused (Screw you, said Freddy!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Paulette by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license, a $7,500 fine, $2,919 in costs and ordered to pay $6,000 in attorney fees incurred by the complainant.

As we speak (ca. September 2018), Freddy practices with The Beery Law Office at 125 North High Street in Hillsboro, Ohio.
