Attorney Yexenia Gilmet of Houston; ethical goblin

The state of Texas presented Gilmet a law license in 1989 after she graduated from the University of Michigan Law School. The states of Michigan and Florida also provided Erica with a license to practice law.

The District 4 Grievance Committee found Gilmet guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Frequently failed to carry out completely the obligations owed to her client
  • Failed to keep her client reasonably informed about the status of her case
  • Failed to promptly comply with her client’s reasonable requests for information Upon termination of the representation
  • Failed to refund unearned fees until after the grievance was filed

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Gilmet by gifting her with a complimentary 90-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2018), Gilmet practices at 917 Franklin Street in Houston, Texas.
