Attorney Christina Wanies-Guirgis of Houston; ethical gremlin

The state of Texas presented Christina J. Wanies-Guirgis with a law license in 2013 after she graduated from the South Texas College of Law.

The District 4 Grievance Committee found Christy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Neglected legal matters entrusted to her
  • Failed to keep her clients reasonably informed about their cases
  • Failed to promptly comply with her clients’ reasonable requests for information
  • Failed to refund advance payments of fees that were not earned.
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Christy!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Christy by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2018), Christy will resume her practice in early February 2019 with Wanies-Guirgis PLLC in Houston, Texas.
