Attorney Marc Casey of Dyersville, IA; ethical troll

The state of Iowa presented Marc William Casey with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Marc guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Marc!)
  • Intentionally failed to seek client’s lawful objectives
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Failed to promptly deliver funds owing to client and/or third parties
  • Concealed or knowingly failed to disclose that which he is required by law to reveal
  • Knowingly made a false statement of law or fact
  • Counseled or assisted a client in conduct that he knew to be illegal or fraudulent
  • Knowingly engaged in other illegal conduct or conduct contrary to a disciplinary rule
  • Neglected personal injury and estate cases
  • Made misrepresentations [lied] to the court and department
  • Prematurely took probate fees

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Marc by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2018) Marc practices with Locher & Davis PLC at 225 First Avenue East in Dyersville, Iowa.
