Judge Wallace Coppedge of Madill, OK; ethical troll

The state of Oklahoma presented Wallace Coppedge with a law license in 1993 after she graduated from Oklahoma City University Law School.

The Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct is investigating the following allegations of misconduct engaged in by Stevie.

In one matter, Wally found it acceptable to approve a plea agreement for a defendant who readily admitted to raping a 13-7ear-old girl. Pursuant to the terms of the plea agreement approved by Wally, the defendant did not serve any prison time.

Subsequently, over 100 people signed a petition directed to the Oklahoma Council on Judicial Complaints and the Oklahoma Bar Association calling for Wally’s removal. Oklahoma Representative Mike Ritze submitted a resolution in the Oklahoma House of Representatives that also called for Wally's removal.

I’m sure that former Olympic gymnastics physician Larry Nasser wishes Wally was his sentencing judge, which may have meant he would have been placed on probation rather than sentenced to life in prison.

It’s very unlikely that the Judicial Commission will take any action against Wally. The same is true of the removal resolution submitted by Rep Ritze.

As we speak (ca. May 2018), Wally continues to sit as Murray County judge in Madill, Oklahoma.
