Attorney Roger Roy Jr. of North Myrtle Beach; ethical gremlin

The State of South Carolina presented Roger Paul Roy Jr. with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the University of Tulsa Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Supreme Court found Roger guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to properly reconcile his trust account for more than two years
• Failed to keep proper financial records in accordance with the Rules of Professional Conduct
• Over the eleven months Roger was making the monthly payment on his personal original mortgage, he depleted the funds entrusted to him for payment of the original mortgage in excess of $28,000
• Effectively used clients’ funds to pay personal mortgage payments

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme punished Roger by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2018) Roger practices in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
