Judge Paul Welsh of Ontario, CAN; buffoon, repeat offender

The Justices of the Peace Review Council found Paulie guilty of the following misconduct.

Paulie’s 1st bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

  • Pled guilty to obstruction of justice
  • Reduced fellow judge’s fine on an overdue red-light ticket
  • Personally, paid offending judge’s fine

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the

Review Council punished Paulie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Paulie’s 2nd bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

The Ontario Justices of the Peace Review Council found Paulie guilty of the following misconduct, all of which involved his handling of a criminal matter involving Ian Silverthorne.

  • When the defendant failed to show up for a hearing on a Saturday when the court was officially closed, Paulie issued a bench warrant for his arrest
  • Based on Paulie’s erroneous arrest warrant, Silverthorne was arrested and spent 24 days in jail before Paulie’s error of setting a hearing on a Saturday was uncovered
  • Misconduct involved troublesome repetition of themes of lack of respect for necessary and proper court processes
  • Engaged in inappropriate interactions with other justice system participants
  • Referring to the previous misconduct finding, the panel felt the new misconduct charge reflects a "troublesome repetition of the themes of lack of respect for necessary and proper court processes and inappropriate interactions with other justice system participants."

Paulie’s Hyperbolic (BS) Defense

Paulie had the chutzpah to defend his moronic conduct that led to Silverthorne being illegally jailed for 24 days by saying:

  • “It was a busy day.”
  • “My mother was in the hospital at the time.”

I see Paulie. When your Mom’s allegedly in the hospital this causes you to violate a person’s constitutional due process rights. Apparently, Paulie the Moron believes that “due process” is the means by which the grass becomes moist in the a.m.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Review Council punished Paulie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, despite being a Certified Moron and Dispenser of BS defenses, Paulie is paid a $129,909 annual salary. Pretty handsome salary for a Moron, right?

As we speak (ca. October 2018), Paulie continues to sit as a Justice of the Peace of the Ontario Court Justice Central West Region.
