U.S. Judge Frederick Kapala: 2^nd Circuit’s 2017 Double Dipping Porker of the Year Winner

The state of Illinois provided Frederick J. Kapala with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from the University of Illinois Law School.

Former President George W. Bush was duped into nominating Freddy for a seat as a judge for the 2^nd Circuit Court of Appeals in January 2007. Freddy wasn’t nominated because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Chicago area. He got it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

For the past thirty-six (36) years, Freddy has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough. Apparently, no self-respecting law firms in the greater Chicago area were about to offer Freddy a good paying job.

In addition to his annual $217,600 salary, Freddy also collects an annual judicial pension from the state of Illinois of approximately $180,000 for a total of $397,600. 

And lastly, if you’re a federal or even a local government employee, wouldn’t you love it if you could take on senior status in your job after 10 years and continue to collect 100% of your pay? Sorry boys and girls!

Even though you’ll never be able to collect this unconscionable financial benefit, you can take solace in the fact that you will be required to continue to pay taxes to support it.
