Attorney Thomas Mitchell-Hoffler of Waterbury, CT; ethical elf

The state of Connecticut presented Thomas Mitchell-Hoffler with a law license in 2004.

The Statewide Greivance Committee found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to promptly inform the client of any decision or circumstance with respect to which the client's informed consent
  • Failed to reasonably consult with the client about the means by which the client's objectives were to be accomplished
  • Failed to advice client the basis or rate of the fee and expenses for which the client would be responsible
  • Failed to provide client with written fee agreement
  • Failed to promptly notify client of receipt of funds belonging to client
  • Failed to properly supervise office staff

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Greivance Committee punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2018), Tommy practices at 41 Holmes Avenue in Waterbury, Connecticut.
